On June 25, a signing ceremony was held for the 9th meeting of the Joint Implementation Committee of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Connectivity Demonstration Project. Ms. Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information and Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore, and Mr. Hu Heng Hua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, co-chaired the meeting. Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for National Development and Communications and Information, Singapore; Chongqing leaders Chen Xinwu and Zhang Guo Zhi; Mr. Li An, Deputy Director-General of the Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Commerce; and Mr. Chen Wei, Counselor of the Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the signing ceremony.
Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation, in collaboration with Weeks Company of Singapore, has developed a proprietary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) machine vision auxiliary system. This system uses advanced machine vision technology and AI-enabled UAV intelligent control algorithms to meet the practical application needs of fire rescue at the scene. This development fills a gap in China, enhancing the safety and intelligence of heavy-duty fire-fighting and rescue UAVs, improving China's international competitiveness in UAV technology, and promoting the rapid development of related industries.
Cao Bing, Chairman of Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation, introduced that Zhongyue Aviation's heavy-duty fire-fighting and rescue UAVs have passed numerous rigorous tests in Singapore and will support the development of Singapore's fire rescue services in the future.
What is the China-Singapore Connectivity Project?
Project Background
In November 2015, under the joint witness of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, the governments of China and Singapore signed the Framework Agreement on the Construction of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Connectivity Demonstration Project, marking the official launch of the project.
Inherent Meaning and Significance
The China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Connectivity Demonstration Project (hereinafter referred to as the "China-Singapore Connectivity Project") is the third inter-governmental cooperation project between China and Singapore. It aims to improve the connectivity of western China and radiate and drive regional development.
Operational Mechanism
The governments of China and Singapore have established a three-tiered cooperation mechanism to ensure the smooth implementation of the China-Singapore Connectivity Project.
