On January 28, a comprehensive forest and grassland fire drill, "Forest Sea Action 2022", was held in Baimei Town, Daofu County, Ganzi Prefecture. Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was invited to participate. Deng Bin, deputy political commissar of the Provincial Forest Fire Fighting Brigade, and relevant responsible comrades from the Provincial Meteorological Bureau observed and guided the drill on site. Feng Fagui, deputy secretary of the prefectural committee, prefectural governor, and commander-in-chief of the prefectural forest fire prevention and control command center, commanded the entire process in the command center.
This drill used a hypothetical forest fire in Baimei Town, Daofu County, as its background. It involved the switching of emergency response levels, on-site organizational command procedures, combat methods such as water extinguishing and artificial precipitation operations, demonstrations of new equipment extinguishing, and the application of information technology. Over 450 people from five levels—prefecture, county, town, village, and the Moshi Park scenic area operating unit—participated in a comprehensive, full-element forest and grassland fire fighting drill.
Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation deployed one fire unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) high-pressure sprayer, one fire UAV transport vehicle carrying four UAVs, and four 50KG fire UAVs. Drills included using fire UAVs to drop dry powder extinguishing bombs to extinguish shrub fires, using UAVs to tow fire hoses to extinguish cliff fires, and targeted rescue material drops. After the drill, Deng Bin commented that the drill showed that the subjects were difficult and strict, the fire extinguishing methods were flexible and diverse, the organizational process was scientific and standardized, and the team's demeanor demonstrated an excellent style. He emphasized that prefectures and counties should further improve their political standing and unify their thinking with the central and provincial decisions on forest and grassland fire prevention and extinguishing. They should focus on prevention, further strengthening the concept that preventing forest and grassland fires is the greatest contribution, and effectively preventing problems before they occur. They should conduct scientific rescue operations, further strengthen training and drills, and improve their practical abilities.
Feng Fagui, on behalf of the prefectural Party committee and government, expressed gratitude to the relevant provincial departments for their long-term support of Ganzi's forest and grassland fire prevention and extinguishing work and congratulated the successful completion of the drill. He pointed out that the forest and grassland fire prevention and extinguishing comprehensive drill was well-organized, close to actual combat, and exceeded expectations, further testing and improving the prefecture's emergency response capabilities. He stressed that the prefecture is currently in a critical period for forest and grassland fire prevention and extinguishing. While precise drills and sufficient preparation are necessary, it is even more crucial to efficiently implement various fire prevention and extinguishing measures to resolutely avoid superficiality and formalism. "Practical prevention" means optimizing plans, equipping materials, and strengthening grid-based work to improve the effectiveness of prevention. We must focus on practical combat, optimize plans according to the principles of speed, science, and efficiency, and prevent confusion in the midst of haste. We must prepare sufficient water extinguishing emergency supplies. Deputy commander-in-chief of the prefectural forest fire prevention command center and responsible comrades of member units participated in the drill or observed it on-site.
