On September 28, the awarding ceremony of the first Global Intelligent Emergency Equipment Competition, themed "Ingenious Manufacturing, Leading Emergency Response," was held at the National Demonstration Zone for Independent Innovation in Zhongguancun, Beijing. Nearly 100 experts, scholars, and representatives from participating companies attended the event. The winning companies for the first, second, and excellence prizes, as well as the top 10 companies, were announced on-site. The first-place winner received $300,000 in funding support and preferential policies such as Beijing settlement indicators.
Since its launch on May 28, 2021, the competition has received over 160 entries from home and abroad. At the end of July, more than ten experts conducted preliminary comprehensive reviews of the entries in the two categories of emergency rescue drones and emergency rescue robots from multiple dimensions, including professional background, industry comprehensive ranking, project technological advancement, and enterprise growth, selecting 30 finalists for each category.
On September 7, the semi-finals moved to the Beijing High-end Manufacturing Base in Fangshan District, with online and offline roadshows to select the top 10 in each category. On September 24, in Zhoukoudian Town, Fangshan District, 20 companies underwent final assessments in events such as drone pinpoint dropping, robot reconnaissance and obstacle crossing, and fire rescue. Finally, Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. stood out from numerous participating companies and won the championship.
Mr. Cao Bing from Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation introduced that Zhongyue Aviation Company makes full use of its own advantages to serve the people, maintaining confidence and adhering to technological innovation. Compared to traditional fire trucks, the speed of extinguishing fires is faster, extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings before the "chimney effect" forms, while also being very precise. The drone can adjust its position or provide reinforcements at any time. The high-rise firefighting drones involved in the exercise each have a standard load capacity of 50-100 kilograms, can ascend to a height of 100 meters in 10 seconds, and have a flight time of 20 minutes.
Zhongyue Aviation has now produced hundreds of firefighting aircraft. For super high-rise buildings over 100 meters, this type of firefighting drone can also be used to extinguish fires. "The precise algorithms of our drone's flight control system and the structure of the aircraft frame have milestone significance for its stability during flight and fire extinguishing."
Jiang Zhiqiang, general manager of Zhongyue Aviation, said that he hopes that in the future, drones will become "protective amulets" for high-rise buildings in cities, so that whenever a fire occurs, firefighting drones can reach the scene as quickly as possible to protect people's lives and property.
As a series of events of the 2021 Zhongguancun Forum, this competition was jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Beijing Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, the Fangshan District People's Government, Zhongguancun Development Group Co., Ltd., and Beijing Institute of Technology; and jointly undertaken by the Beijing High-end Manufacturing (Fangshan) Base Management Committee, Beijing Zhongguancun Frontier Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd., Beijing Zhongguancun International Convention and Exhibition Operation Management Co., Ltd., and the Fire Technology Innovation Committee of the China Safety Industry Association.
