On June 16th, the Chongqing High-tech Zone Management Committee held a "June 16th Safety Publicity and Consultation Day" event at the Xiji Square in University Town. This year marks the project construction year for the Western (Chongqing) Science City, and the High-tech Zone has launched a "Safety Production Month" activity. The event showcased various safety products and promoted safety knowledge.
On the morning of the 16th, a flurry of white foam filled Xiji Square in University Town, quickly covering the ground in a layer of "snow".
The source of the continuous stream of white foam was a firefighting drone, specifically designed to combat high-rise fires, water fires, forest fires, and other fire situations inaccessible to conventional firefighting equipment.
According to reports, this firefighting drone "is characterized by its rapid deployment and faster response time than typical fire trucks." On-site personnel explained that this drone is used for high-rise, water, and forest fires, and can be deployed within 3 minutes of rescue personnel arriving on the scene. While towing a fire hose, the drone can extinguish a 300-square-meter fire in 3 minutes. It has a standard payload of 25 kilograms, a half-hour flight time, can be deployed within 3 minutes, and can withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius, making it a high-performance tool. "Traditional fire truck water cannons typically have a maximum range of 100 meters, and ordinary ladders only reach the height of ten to twenty floors. If fire lanes are blocked, rescue efforts are delayed. Drones solve all these problems, enabling quick response to fires." Firefighter Zhang Shuai said that the drone not only continuously sprays extinguishing foam but can also carry and launch projectiles to break glass and other obstacles, allowing for timely foam injection into buildings.
The event featured a publicity and consultation area, an interactive experience area, and a safety product display area. The interactive experience area included sections for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, safe driving, and intelligent security; the safety product display area showcased several high-tech safety products.
According to a relevant official from the High-tech Zone Safety Committee Office, this year is the project construction year for the Science City. Using the Safety Production Month activities as a platform, the Science City has carried out diverse safety publicity "five-entry" work. For example, in Bafu Town, the safety publicity team leveraged the wide coverage of the "village-to-village" broadcast system for publicity. Targeting the elderly population in some communities, they collaborated with fire rescue stations and other professional forces to conduct door-to-door inspections and promote "three-clearing, three-checking" fire safety knowledge. In Baishiyi Street, experts were invited to conduct interactive emergency knowledge training, and joint emergency drills and training were conducted with the fire rescue detachment in enterprises and communities to enhance public emergency rescue awareness... During the Safety Production Month, the Science City will also conduct concentrated safety publicity "five-entry" activities into enterprises, rural areas, communities, schools, and homes to promote universal safety knowledge.
