I. Basic Situation
At approximately 5:00 PM on March 15, 2024, a forest fire broke out in Baizi Village, Jiala Town, Ya'an County. At approximately 3:00 PM on the 16th, due to a sudden increase in wind speed, the fire spread rapidly, forming three fire zones extending from south to north. Fire zone 1 is located southwest of Ya'an County; fire zone 2 is located northeast of Ya'an County; and fire zone 3 is located northwest of Ya'an County.
II. Rescue Operation
The Chongqing Zhongyue Aviation rescue team, dispatched by the Ya'an County Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Control Command Center, deployed one drone equipment vehicle, one forest rapid response pickup truck, three ZY-XF50 firefighting and rescue drones, and necessary fire extinguishing parts and consumables to Ya'an to support the forest fire control work.

After arriving at the Ya'an forest fire scene, following the combat deployment and dispatch of the Ya'an County Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention Command Center, the team proceeded to fire zone two to support the mountain fire control efforts. Upon arrival, multiple burning spots were discovered on the mountainside. Due to the high altitude of approximately 3000 meters, the fire sites on the mountain have steep slopes and difficult terrain, with a gradient of 60 to 70 degrees. Traditional firefighting equipment such as water hoses and high-pressure water pumps are difficult to deploy, and many areas are inaccessible to rescue personnel.

Under these harsh geographical conditions, the on-site commander deployed the ZY-XF50 heavy-duty firefighting and rescue drone, equipped with forest-specific dry powder fire extinguishing bombs, to fly to the fire area from a distance and accurately drop the extinguishing agents to put out the fire.
(1) Cliff Mountain Fire Rescue Operation
For cliff fires in steep mountainous areas, reconnaissance drones were first deployed to scout the fire line and locate the fire spots. After identifying the fire spots, the ZY-XF50 heavy-duty firefighting and rescue drone was deployed, carrying and dropping dry powder fire extinguishing bombs to accurately extinguish the fire spots, effectively controlling the fire spread.

(2) Drones and Supporting Equipment
The equipment deployed for the Ya'an mountain fire rescue mainly includes: ZY-15 drone rapid response pickup truck, ZY-50 one-vehicle, two-drone mobile operation platform, Sentinel ZY-XF50 heavy-duty firefighting and rescue drone, and projectile-type dry powder fire extinguishing bombs.

III. Battle Summary
The Ya'an mountain fire rescue operation fully demonstrated the advantages of drones' mobility and flexibility. In the face of harsh geographical conditions such as steep mountains and cliffs, where traditional firefighting equipment and personnel were unable to reach the fire spots, the drones' ability to overcome geographical limitations, their high carrying capacity, and their precision fire extinguishing capabilities enabled rapid and efficient fire control. This fully demonstrated the advanced and practical applications of new emergency rescue equipment in forest fires.
